Whilst this may seem like a versatile approach, left unchecked, can create hours of work correcting hundreds of text entities to display with the correct management approved font and size.Ĭonsider an MText entity, a user can highlight a portion of text and change the font and size to an alternative option. However, like many AutoCAD functions these rules can be overridden, and object specific rules can be applied. The style controls sizing behaviour, appearance and font which will ensure said annotation looks consistent for all project documentation.
In AutoCAD, for all annotations I recommend the use of styles, including elements like Text and Mtext entities. However even in this situation things can be frustrated when receiving AutoCAD drawings from external sources, or when some drawings are modified by contracting staff who have a more ‘fluid’ grasp of the rules. Following these rules should ensure files look and behave in an identical and reliable manner. We'll set it to the correct style.When teaching new and existing users of AutoCAD I spend a lot of time on the importance of using template files and adhering to company defined standards. If the attribute is not set to the correct Text Style, let us know via a technical support ticket. In the image below, the Style is set incorrectly to Romans1 rather than PLANT CALLOUT. (For example, text attributes in plant label source blocks should be set to PLANT CALLOUT.) In the Properties panel, verify that the Style entry under Text is set to the correct Text Style for that type of block. (For example, click an instance of text within a plant label source block.)ģC. The latest version of the block will download automatically, and the text within the block should now appear correctly. Type PRG in the Command line, and press Enter.ĢE.
